Frequently Asked Questions

Jewellery Services and Policies

Do you offer watch repair services at your store?

We do not sell or service watches, however we can change batteries and adjust sizing (adding/removing links) on most watches.

What is the typical turnaround time for jewellery repair?

Jewellery repairs typically take 2 to 8 business days, and are completed in the order they are received. While we can not offer same day service, customers are provided with a receipt at the time of booking. We can, at times, accommodate a rush or emergency repair. Please enquire with the team when you come by.

Do you offer jewellery appraisals?

Yes, we have a certified gemologist who offers independent appraisals in-store once a month. Please contact us in advance to schedule an appointment.

Custom Jewellery & Design

How long does it typically take to complete a custom jewellery piece?

The timeframe for creating a custom piece typically ranges from 8 to 12 weeks, depending on the complexity of the design.

What is involved in the custom design process?

The custom design process varies by client—some arrive with a clear vision, while others seek guidance from our designer. We begin with a consultation, during which the designer sketches initial concepts and provides a quote. If needed, a CAD design is created for added clarity. Once the design is approved, the piece is cast, crafted, and made ready for pickup.

Can you reuse my old gold to make new jewellery?

To ensure the highest quality finish, we prefer to use new gold for custom pieces. However, we’re happy to buy back your old gold and apply its value as a credit toward your new custom design. Any gemstones will be returned to you.

What are the benefits of custom jewellery?

Custom jewellery offers the opportunity to express personal style, ensures a one-of-a-kind piece, and often carries greater sentimental value.

Jewellery Care & Maintenance

How do I care for and maintain my jewellery?

Keep your jewellery in top condition by cleaning it regularly with suitable solutions, storing it in a clean, dry place, and having it professionally inspected and cleaned from time to time.

What is a jewellery appraisal, and do I need one?

A jewellery appraisal determines the value of your piece for insurance purposes. It’s recommended for high-value items to ensure they’re properly covered in the event of loss or theft.

Why do white gold rings need rhodium plating?

White gold is naturally a warm, yellowish tone due to its gold content. Rhodium plating gives it the bright white appearance most people associate with white gold, and helps protect the ring from scratches and tarnish.

How long does rhodium plating last?

On average, rhodium plating lasts 6 months to 2 years, depending on how often the ring is worn and your lifestyle. Rings worn daily may need replating more often than occasional-wear pieces.

How can I make my rhodium plating last longer?

  1. Remove your ring during heavy-duty tasks, gym sessions, or swimming
  2. Avoid contact with harsh chemicals (cleaning products, perfumes, etc.)
  3. Store your ring in a soft pouch or separate box when not wearing it
